The Mission of Ronald McDonald House Greater Fort Worth is to provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare.
Ronald McDonald House Greater Fort Worth opened its doors on November 28, 1981, in a historic mansion on 8th Avenue with just 11 guest rooms.
In 1996, a new 20-room Ronald McDonald House opened in the Fort Worth Medical District, just one block from Cook Children’s Medical Center and Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth. As the medical community grew, so did the need for our programs and services.
In 2004, the House expanded to serve 38 families each night, and our first Ronald McDonald Family Room opened inside Cook Children’s Medical Center.
In August 2013, a 20,000-square-foot expansion increased the House’s capacity to 57 guest rooms, allowing even more families to stay close to their child’s care.
Our reach continued to grow beyond the House with the launch of the Day Program in 2018 and Hospitality Carts at Cook Children’s Medical Center and Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center in 2019.
Today, our hospital-based support includes Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at Cook Children’s Medical Center and Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, along with Hospitality Carts at Cook Children’s, Baylor Scott & White All Saints and Texas Health.
For more than four decades, our programs have grown alongside the needs of families and our medical community, while our purpose has remained the same: helping families stay supported, connected and close to the care their children need.
